Day 3 of Gratitude
This is Crystal and she is a customer service maven at my local Safeway. Safeway was wrapping up it's monopoly game program and the store was super busy with customers collecting their game winnings. When I walked up to the front of the line, I told Crystal that I had three Western Union transactions that would take time. The line was long behind me. She told me, "you don't mind if I help you and the rest of the folks in this line. I promise I can multitask". Instead of giving me the "anxious, oh man, this is going to take forever look", she quickly managed through everything. I was nervous about the annoyed stares behind me. Not once did I feel like an inconvenience to her. She made the whole process so seamless.
Crystal I am grateful for the way you made feel. You get customer service
right.
I am also grateful to my dad for being an example to us. When we were kids, my dad always made eye contact with the checkout cashier, quickly read his/her name tag and struck up a conversation. It was embarrassing when we were young, but now I get it.
Talk to the helpers everywhere and acknowledge them.
