I am grateful for hindsight. A letter to my 13 year old self.
Dear 13 Year Old,
Stop being so hard on yourself.
No one will remember that bad grade in math. No one will remember that incident of when some girls made fun of you (pretty soon you'll realize that people won't even have the time to think about you). No one will care about your clothes ('Guess' jeans will be so out and turtlenecks will be so in).
There will be many more awkward stages in your "appearance". In 8th grade, you experimented with the 'Winnie' haircut from the Wonder Years. You learned the hard way that bangs weren't meant for you.
There will be many more outrageous haircuts. You will be a dare devil when it comes to your hair.
And one day, you will be so comfortable with yourself that you will proudly 'own' your quirkiness. You will laugh at yourself wholeheartedly.
Your 13 old self would've buried this picture into the ground. Your 40 year old self could care less.
A 40 Year old
