Day 17 of Gratitude
I am grateful for my heart.
In the Islamic faith, the heart has special importance. Because faith is connected to the heart. Without the heart, it doesn't exist.
In the English language, faith and belief are often interchangeable. But faith is an absolute truth whereas belief can be a supposed truth. The Arabic word 'iman' implies faith.
The Prophet Muhammad defined 'iman' by saying, "Faith is a knowledge in the heart, a voicing of the tongue, and an activity with the limbs." Faith involves knowing, speaking and doing. And
it begins in the heart.
The worst thing that can happen to a human being is the death of the heart. The heart holds compassion, empathy, love, intelligence, wisdom, and sight. Before you even use your eyes to see or your brain to think, the heart can see and think.
Celebrate and honor the most precious gift given to us. Listen to your heart, guard your heart and love your heart.
