I am grateful for dates.
In the month of Ramadan, Muslims eat a lot of dates. The reason is because the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recommended that Muslims break their fasts with this fruit. Dates are the food of heaven, along with figs and pomegranates. They are rich in nutritional value and they can provide enough calories for human survival.
Last night I attended a community iftar at my local mosque. I was late in sitting down to break my fast. So I started searching around for a date. I was pacing back and forth and just then I heard a voice call out my name, "Aliya, Aliya!" Just then, a woman appeared in front of me and said "I was watching you looking for a date. I have one for you!" So I quickly broke my fast and I went for the congregational prayer.
I think back to that moment. A lot of times we think we're on our own. We think we're alone in our journey and there is no one watching us. We even stop paying attention to our surroundings.
But there is always someone looking out for you. Someone's always got your back.
And when you most need them, He will make them magically appear.
